At HLM I had the opportunity to work on a multitude of projects at a variety of stages.
Science Exhibition/Education Centre
During my first placement, the focus was on the Techniquest project, a science exhibition centre, in the heart of Cardiff Bay. I worked on planning applications, and RIBA stages 2, 3 and 4.
Mixed-Use Masterplan
There was also an opportunity to work on a conceptual mixed use masterplan, where I produced experiential images. Some of these renders were produced in-house, for which I had an input. And for others, I produced base renders, before liaising directly with an external rendering office.
Education Projects
On my return to HLM, the focus was on educational projects. A local council region was redeveloping their school structure, including the buildings. I worked on three projects, only one was taken to further stages and is now under construction. This included planning documentation, site visits and modelling on ArchiCAD.
